Speed Fasteners - Avlug, Avsert, Briv, Avtronic, Chobert, Grovit, Rivscrew
Are you a fastener distributor, OEM, or hardware supplier in need of speed fasteners? Here at Rapid Rivet & Fastener Corp. we offer a wide range of solutions that will suit your needs.
Most Common Speed Fastener Applications
A speed fastener is a blind rivet that functions like a standard break-mandrel blind rivet except speed fasteners lack a mandrel. The mandrel is incorporated into the rivet setting tool. Speed fasteners are loaded onto the mandrel as a group and are then installed into the work piece. As there is no mandrel attached to the fastener, the installed speed fastener is hollow.
Speed fasteners are sometimes referred to as hollow bore rivets or mandrel-loaded rivets. Because there is no need to load each separate mandrel into the installation tool "which would be needed in the case of a conventional blind rivet" the installation can be performed much faster, hence the term "speed fastener". A chobert rivet is regarded as the original speed fastener. Speed fasteners are used by many industries including aircraft, automotive and electronics. They're frequently found in printed circuit board assemblies, computers, and other equipment.
Manufacturing & Quality
Speed fasteners are manufactured in a number of different styles based on their intended use. Chobert rivets are the most versatile and are available in a variety of materials, head styles, and sizes. Briv fasteners have a large head bearing surface and are good for use in sheetmetal and composite materials. The Grovit fastener is designed for use in thick plastics and other composite materials. The Avtronic fastener is designed to attach connectors to printed circuit boards. The Avlug fastener is designed to be used as a terminal post in printed circuit boards. The Rivscrew fastener installs like other speed fasteners but is designed to function like a removable screw.
