Rapid Rivet & Fastener Corp. is a leading and trusted master stocking distributor handling the supply and distribution of precision fasteners including solid rivets, blind rivets, semi-tubular rivets, rivet nuts, threaded inserts and drive rivets, to military, aerospace and commercial industries.
Most Common Solid Rivet Applications
A solid rivet is a one-piece rivet that is used to hold critical parts together and contributes to the strength of the structure. For example, solid rivets are used to hold aluminum panels to the frames of an aircraft fuselage. Rivets are also commonly used to hold steel panels to the frames of a truck body. Solid rivets are ideal fasteners to use when high strength and a permanent tamper-proof joint are required.
Manufacturing & Quality
Solid rivets are manufactured using a wide variety of materials and alloys, including steel, aluminum, Monel, Inconel, alloy steel, stainless steel, copper, brass and titanium. They are available in both countersunk and protruding head styles. The most common countersunk head style for a solid rivet is 100 degrees, but other degrees of countersunk are available. Among protruding head styles of solid rivets, the universal head is the most common. Other types of protruding head styles include round head, button head, flat head, brazier head, and pan head. Solid rivet diameters can range from 1/16” to 3/8”?, with lengths that range from 1/16” up through 2” or 3”. The longer lengths are proportionally available in larger diameters.

- They’re secure. Solid rivets create a tamper-proof, permanent joint.
- They provide consistently uniform results with a minimum of inspection expense.
- They facilitate the joining of different materials and materials of non-uniform thicknesses.
- They allow for high rates of production with a minimum investment in installation machinery.
- Rivets are versatile. In addition to their use as aerospace and automotive fastener, they can be used for electrical connections, stops, pivots, cam followers, inserts, spacers and as decorative embellishments.
