Plastic: Nylon plastic drive rivets are used by the automotive industry and to install fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) wall and ceiling panels. They are used where a non-corrosive, electrically insulated fastener is needed, and where high-strength is not an issue. They are available in a variety of colors.
Truss: Truss Head. Term used in semi-tubular rivets, referring to a protruding head with a low profile, that is more than twice the diameter of the body of the rivet. Also in solid steel rivets, a truss head is the equivalent of a brazier head.
Tubular: Full tubular rivet. Similar to the semi-tubular rivet, but with a deeper drilled hole. Commonly used by the loose-leaf binder industry.
